Revictimización mediática en víctimas secundarias de homicidios dolosos de mujeres y feminicidios en el estado de Guerrero en el periodo 2020 - 2023.
Resumen
Intentional homicide and femicides reflect the brutal violence that society suffers. Mexico has one of the highest incidence rates in Latin America, with 28 victims per 100 thousand inhabitants. This study focuses on how the newspaper El Sur de Acapulco reports on the murders of women, using derogatory terms and graphic images that dehumanize the victims. This situation also affects secondary victims, those who have lost a loved one. The main objective is to analyze media revictimization in secondary victims of intentional homicides of women in the state of Guerrero during the period 2020-2023, to understand how the media influences the social perception of femicides. This descriptive análisis is based on 13 most relevant cases from the newspaper El Sur about murders of women in Guerrero, with media attention. The methodology used. It includes two information gathering techniques, content analysis and narrative analysis, along with the analysis of the testimony interpreted by a thanatology specialist and the use of the Atlas. Ti software tool. The findings revealed the frequent use of emotional and psychological impact, sensational language, lack of truthfulness and follow-up, depersonalization of victims and reproduction of negative stereotypes.
